While living in Britain, Lucy Frend chose to attend college abroad. She was accepted to Oxford University's sister school in Menlo Park, California. She graduated in 1998 with honors achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a Minor in Photography.

While attending college Lucy volunteered frequently at the Ansel Adams Center of Photography assisting art and photography lessons for various inner city schools that had little or no art instruction. In Lucy's last year of college she interned with professional photographer, Mel Lindstrom. It is here that Lucy became increasingly interested in digital photography and the array of computer software available to conceptualize imagery and design. Lucy took courses at Foothill Community College in Graphic Design eventually completing her Associates Degree in 2001.

In 2003, Lucy Frend decided to travel around South Asia before focusing on furthering her education. She took four months to backpack around Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and India.

Upon her return to the United States she moved to Florida to embark on her Master of Science degree in Mass Communication at Florida State University. Focusing on her studies in the evening Lucy worked full time as a Senior Graphic Designer for international artist, Paul Brent.

Now living in New York, Lucy has set up a small studio and gained numerous freelance clients. Her work includes creating textural effects on plates and cups to designing advertisements, websites and logos for musicians, fashion designers, and non-profit groups.
